The mounts provide a lot more stability at higher speeds. The board is easier to control. The double threaded rods are a bad design because the side of the rod that inserts into the mount has a smaller diameter thread than the nut that attaches to the wheel. You have to apply non removable locktite to the threads attaching to the mount or you will unscrew the rod when taking the wheels off.
